On this special day, we celebrate the birth of our country and take time to reflect on the freedoms that we so cherish.
When the founding fathers signed the Declaration of Independence, they knew they were placing themselves and their families in grave danger should the revolution fail. Everything they loved was at risk. Emphasizing the importance of unity and the seriousness of the situation, the great Benjamin Franklin remarked, “We must, indeed, all hang together or, most assuredly, we shall all hang separately.”
The fourth of July was just the beginning of the struggle against Britain. But the courage, leadership, and sacrifice of the founders on that day set the tone for the long contest to come. In the end, the thirteen colonies won their independence and our birthright of freedom.
I hope you all have a wonderful day with friends and family, celebrating our history and independence! God bless America!
